Find something that works ...

And do it over

and over

and over

and over again.

Ray Allen is the best three-point shooter ever.  It's not because he learned how to do lots of different things well.

He took the same shot over

and over

and over

and over again.

That is how you become a champion.

We're here to help!

Nowadays, it seems as though everyone's business is "here to help".  Yesterday, that may have actually meant something. but today, I'd argue those words mean next to nothing to consumers.  In fact, it may even make them skeptical ("Why are they saying that?  What are they trying to hide from me?")

Just because you say you are here to help doesn't mean people are going to believe you.  After all, as entrepreneurs, we are problem solvers, helping people with problems that make their life better.

So don't just say it -- make sure you are actually doing it!  Talk to customers, listen impartially, and learn how you can really, deeply help them.

Once you do that, the word will spread far faster than throwing it in some tag line or mission statement!

Delivering Happiness - Really Resonated

I've been reading the book Delivering Happiness by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh. In the section about core values, something totally jumped out at me.

"Sometimes it may seem that new problems crop up as fast as we solve old ones (sometimes faster!), but that just means that we're moving - that we're getting better and stronger.  Anyone who wants to compete with us had to learn the same thing, so problems are just mile markers.  Each one we pass means we've gotten better."  (pg 173)

What an awesome, wise way to look at the challenges we face every day in our businesses.

Eazy On Eliminates the Worst Part of Skiing

Does the thought of getting in and out of your ski boots make you never want to ski again?

Here's the solution: Eazy On.  You spray it on your foot and glide into your boot.  I ordered a can last week and it arrived in the mail yesterday.  Excited to try this on my next ski trip.

You can buy it here.  It costs $15, which is nothing considering it helps remove the worst part about skiing.

Entrepreneurship Simplified

Here is my model of how entrepreneurship makes the world better.

Assuming this model to be true, what better way is there to spend your time than to help entrepreneurs succeed?
